How We Work
DevNest's principles, working style, and what makes us different from a typical agency.
How We Work
We're not a typical agency. Here's what that means in practice.
Small by design
DevNest is intentionally small. Every project is led by a senior engineer or designer, not handed to a junior after the sales call. You work with the people who actually do the work.
Fixed-price, scoped engagements
We don't bill by the hour. Every project starts with a clearly defined scope of work and a fixed price. If scope changes, we renegotiate transparently. No surprise invoices.
Async-first, but never absent
We work across time zones and async by default. That means detailed written updates instead of unnecessary calls, documented decisions instead of verbal handshakes, and a Notion workspace that's always up to date.
That said, we're available. We do weekly syncs, respond to messages within a few hours during business hours, and are reachable when something urgent comes up.
We ship working software at every checkpoint
There are no "design phases" that stretch into infinity. Every week, there's something you can see, click, or test. We don't save the surprise for the end.
We'll tell you when we disagree
If we think you're making a mistake, technically, strategically, or from a UX perspective, we'll tell you. Respectfully, with reasoning. You make the final call, but we won't silently ship something we think is wrong.
What we expect from you
- Availability: One point of contact who can make decisions
- Feedback within 48 hours: Blockers slow everyone down
- Trust: You hired us for our expertise; let us use it
- Honesty: If something isn't working, tell us early
